MT. WASHINGTON COMMUNITY COUNCIL LOGO DESIGN
Mt. Washington is an older community located on the east side of Cincinnati, Ohio. It exists as one of Cincinnati's many surrounding hilltop communities, with a business district at the summit and an iconic water tower at its center. This water tower has always been the symbol that represents Mt. Washington. Recently, however, both residence and business owners reached out to the Mt. Washington Community Council to develop a new logo that more accurately represents the entire community, rather than just those on top. This logo would start as part of the new community council branding, but would need to developed as the possible, future replacement for the current Mt. Washington community logo.
This final logo design offers a better geographic understanding of everything encompassed by the complete borders of Mt. Washington, all the way down to the Miami River Valley. In addition to utilizing an organic color palette to emphasize Mt. Washington's many wooded areas, the organic shapes that make up the logo remind residence of the Atomic Era in the United States, when Mt. Washington experienced it's most dynamic population growth, residential expansion and business development.
